Our story

HK Mathekga Insurance & Assurance Brokers (HKMIAB) was established by Mr Hendrick Kgomotso Mathekga. He started out in the financial services industry when he joined Barclays Bank (now First National Bank) in 1970. He joined Old Mutual as a Financial Advisor in 1986 and remained there until he established HKMIAB in 1995. The late Mr HK Mathekga had put a succession plan in place to ensure business continuity bearing in mind that his clients would still need financial advice even when he was no longer available.

Mr KL Mathekga was trained by Mr HK Mathekga to succeed him in the business. Kgatutu Linscott Mathekga joined HKMIAB in 2013. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has had exposure in managerial accounting and finance, tax, internal auditing, procurement and enterprise development amongst others. He previously worked for De Beers Mines, Maggies Original Mageu and Sappi, amongst others, and currently holds executive and non-executive positions in few companies. Kgatutu intends to grow the legacy of HKMIAB for future generations and assist clients to do the same with their financial planning affairs i.e. build and protect wealth in various forms, for current and future generations.


Ms J Mahlangu is our Office Manager. Joyce, before joining HKMIAB, had exposure in a bookkeeping firm as an admin clerk. She joined our company in 1998 as a clerk. She has since moved ranks within the company and has had valuable experience and knowledge in office administration of this of kind business. When you contact us, Joyce is the first point of contact.
